Things are about to
get a little wilder in Logan.
That’s the plan, at
least, for a popular restaurant chain and its fans.
Buffalo Wild Wings,
one of the fastest growing food franchises in the country, is planning to open its first
restaurant in Cache Valley in March.
The restaurant will be located at the Pinecrest
Shopping Center at 43 E. 1400 North, in the site formerly occupied by Ruby
Tuesday, which closed last year.
Managers of the shopping center, owned by
Woodbury Corporations, are excited about the arrival of the restaurant.
“This year has been a year of growth,” Woodbury
property manager Steven Stokes said. “We’ve recently leased land and space to
many well-known tenants and we feel that Buffalo Wild Wings is just another
step up for us.”
Stokes is not the only one who is looking
forward to the opening of the chain.
Hyrum local Kody Yonk said it will be nice to
have one of the company’s restaurants located close to his home.
“My wife and I ate there when we were visiting
Salt Lake and the food was great,” he said. “They have some killer wings and
burgers that we’ve been craving for a while. We definitely will be paying a
visit when it opens.”
Founded in 1982, BWW’s advertises itself as a
family-friendly bar and grill.
“I think this sort of atmosphere is something
that’s been missing from Logan ever since Aggy’s closed down,” Stokes said,
referring to the sports grill formerly located at 2271 North Main. “I think
it’s a very smart business move on both ends of the agreement.”
Construction started in early October and,
despite winter conditions, the work structure is nearing completion.
Utah State University student John Merkley, who
was recently hired as a server at the restaurant, said he is excited to begin
work — and was surprised by the restaurant’s plan to open in the first week of
March.
“I’m not
sure if it’ll be done by then because there’s still a lot to do,” he said, “but
they already are planning fun events for the community and university.”
