The Logan High School boys’
basketball team will travel to Hyrum to face its in-valley rival, Mountain
Crest, on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
A team seeking vengeance
will be there to meet them.
The Grizzlies soundly
defeated the Mustangs in the teams’ first meeting of the season, which ended 63-38.
With home court advantage
for this game, Mountain Crest senior guard Gaje Ferguson said he’s confident
his team can win.
“Revenge is what I want. That
other game was a fluke and we’re out to prove it,” Ferguson said. “There’s
always a bigger drive playing a valley rivalry. There’s more tension for sure.”
Coming off a win against
Bonneville, the Grizzlies are also self-assured.
“We are going in confident
but at the same time we know how hard it is to get a win out there,” said Cole
Dickson, a senior captain for Logan. “Our support is always great, but
something about playing Mountain Crest gets everybody fired up.”
With each loss, the Mustangs
are reducing their chances of making the playoffs while the Grizzlies are in
postseason contention. Despite their disappointing season, the rivalry has
Mountain Crest excited for the game on Wednesday.
“We may be having a tough
season, but this bitter rivalry has the whole school pumped,” said Canon
Schenk, a senior wing for Mountain Crest.

Klinkowski, Justin Anderson and Madison Eves contributed to this report.
